Centennial of Naval Aviation Video Recap
The 100 year celebration of Naval Aviation in Coronado, CA at the North Island Naval Air Station was truly a once in a lifetime event. Almost 200 military aircraft flew over San Diego Bay along with about 75 aircraft from the Navy, Marines & Coast Guard on display on the ground. Everyone who attended had a good time and you could walk up close to every aircraft. Many of them you could even tour the inside & talk to the pilots.
USS Stennis Air Wing in Flight
The pinnacle of the show was 38 aircraft from the USS John C. Stennis (CVN-74) aircraft carrier which included 30 FA-18 Hornets, E-2C, EA-6B, 2 FA-18 Super Hornets and a few other aircraft. Here is a video:

Boeing B-29 “Fifi” Superfortress Takes Flight
I recently attended the AOPA Summit in Long Beach, California over the weekend and volunteered. On Friday I was stationed right next to the only air worthy B-29 left in existence known as “Fifi” and a member of the Commemorative Air Force. I had the chance to see PiperSport up close & personal at the AOPA Airportfest in Long Beach and it is gorgeous. Definitely looks fun to fly and the glass cockpit is a sight to see.
